Mouvement contrarié » is an artificial system of body’s representation. It can be defined as the opposition between the head’s direction and the body’s one. We present the conclusions of the research works we made on this composition and about its use on greek vase painting. These works have been realized from 2006 to 2008 in Master Sciences of Antiquity, on different style and vases. Agnès Mérillot worked on Attic black figure vases of the 6th century. Nadège Gasc studied the use of “mouvement contrarié” on italiot vases at the beginning of the 4th century, specially those of Paestum workshops
