The article provides a survey of the archeological research in Sicily concerning the thematics of water. After an historiagraphic survey, it deals with the three main axes of study, namely the restitution of the antique landscape, the water management of the hinterland and the urban space of Greek cities. Lastly, it propounds fresh approaches meant to improve our knowledge of the vast arrangements at Agrigentum and Syracusae
