Attempt at an interpretation of an ancient sacred Mexican Hymn : The Ixcozauhqui's Song The analysis of an ancient sacred Mexican Hymn dedicated to Ixcozauhqui, the God of Fire, has allowed us to learn three major lessons. First of all, this Song belongs to one of the main liturgical points of a religious feast called "Izcalli". Then, we have noticed that many common features between the Soothsayer interceding during this feast and the Siberian Shamans. Finally, we have been able to verify that the beliefs in use in Mexico City were shared by other populations living on the Meso-American territory, especially the Mayas, thus testifying to the reality and liveliness of a genuine cultural common heritage in this wide area
