The authors review and evaluate recommendations made by the International Review Group of Social Science Research on Population and Development for future population policy research in developing countries. (see 46: Title 2735). Differences between basic and policy-oriented research are examined and means of increasing the usefulness of research are considered. Three possible kinds of research to be used in the formulation and implementation of policy regarding mortality fertility and internal and international migration are discussed (SUMMARY IN FRE SPA)
