Los distintos modelos organizacionales implican diferentes explicaciones de la legitimidad en las organizaciones. Cuatro tipo de aproximaciones son identificadas y estudiadas: el tipo ideal weberiano, que descansa sobre la obediencia a las normas; el taylorista de la ?organización científica del trabajo?, sobre la autoridad de la ciencia; el ?modelo humanista? de la escuela de relaciones humanas, sobre el sentimiento de pertenencia; y el de la ?cooperación negociada? sobre la negociación y el acuerdo
