Marécars et Labbias sont des commerçants indiens musulmans qui arrivèrent directement dans les années soixante du Vietnam en région parisienne, riches d'une expérience de cohabitation entre diverses religions et cultures. Les Marécars furent les premiers à mettre en place des réseaux d'entraide communautaire à l'origine d'une véritable infrastructure commerçante indienne à Paris, occupant un rôle majeur d'intermédiaires dans les réseaux d'import-export de la diaspora
