Description of the arrangement of rivers, even canals from around 1150 to the XVIIIth century by means of rabats (overdraghes) or watergates then, much later, of pound locks, or even dikes. The towns took the start and the State followed in modern times. The maximum tonnage was likely to be 60 t., the speed (that of the haulers) was 5 km/h at the best, but the price for a tun per km was 6 to 15 as cheap as by road
