En el presente artículo nos proponemos dos objetivos, el primero será probar la insuficiencia de la matriz kantiana de la ética para dar cuenta de la vulnerabilidad y precariedad que son propias de la existencia humana. Mostraremos cómo las teorías éticas "perdedoras" de la modernidad, ofrecían un marco mucho más rico para abordar la interdependencia humana. Nuestro segundo objetivo es el de plantear una hipótesis sobre la relación entre estos discursos sobre la libertad como autonomía y la negación de la vulnerabilidad humana, y, por ende, de la relegación o subalternización de los argumentos éticos centrados en el cuidado
