Based on the author's interest in the professors' teaching practice and taking into account the present situation of education in the University, the present work defends the necessity for the continuous training of professors as an essential element to reconstruct the educational practice.As a starting point for this training, she suggests a critical review of practice, the professors' knowledge and professional life cycle and an analysis of the broader determinants of the pedagogical work.With this in mind, she brings up reflections by authors that embraced the educational practice as their object of investigation, in an attempt to redeem some elements essential to both the professors' critical background and the building up of a transforming educational practice at the University
