V članku je predstavljeno gorenjsko pripovedno izročilo v obdobju od prve polovice 19. do začetka 21. stoletja. Raziskana je razvojna pot pripovedništva predvsem prek sprememb v pripovednem repertoarju, v načinu pripovedovanja, v okoliščinah pripovedovanja ter v oblikah zapisovanja oz. snemanja in objavljanja besedil. Spremembe, ki jim lahko sledimo tako v motiviki kot v žanrih so prikazane ob gradivu, ki so ga na Gorenjskem zbrali M. Ravnikar - Poženčan, M. Valjavec - Kračmanov, M. Matičetov, T. Cevc, M. Cvetek in B. Bezek. *** This article presents Upper Carniolan narrative tradition from the first half of the nineteenth century to the beginning of the twenty-first century. It discusses the developmental path of narration primarily through changes in the narrative repertoire, narration method, narration circumstances, and recording, transcribing, and publishing texts. Changes that can be observed in both motifs and genres are presented using material collected in Upper Carniola by Matevž "Poženčan" Ravnikar, Matija "Kračmanov" Valjavec, Milko Matičetov, Tone Cevc, Marija Cvetek, and Benjamin Bezek
