Recientes investigaciones en Pampa de los Perros, un sitio del Precerámico Final ubicado en el valle bajo del Chillón, han revelado una larga y compleja secuencia constructiva que incluye la edificación de recintos, pirámides y una plaza circular. Basados en esta y en información previamente publicada sobre sitios contemporáneos con arquitectura monumental de la costa central, y especialmente a partir de los conceptos iniciales de Ettore Napoli (1967) y Michael Moseley (1992), se precisa y amplía el concepto de la Tradición El Paraíso. Además, planteamos las relaciones que esta tuvo con otras tradiciones arquitectónicas del Precerámico Final, es decir con las tradiciones Mito y El Aspero
