Understanding the creative writer can lead not only to enlarged understanding of all creative individuals but also to a broader concept of the entire field of creativity, for writing is probably the most prevalent and widely understood form used to communicate creative interpretations of experience. The social impact of writers in disseminating information, influencing public opinion, forming public taste, and advancing culture is so great, and language itself is so much an expression of culture that a study of its use provides a field for observation of creative forces in the culture itself
