Claude Jacquier, The Housing of Immigrant Communities and their Integration The integration of immigrants into French society is a recent political concern which appeared at the same time as immigration was officially stopped. Housing is a good indicator of segregation, but is not the object of a specific policy, except in the case of individual workers. The immigrants have integrated themselves most all by becoming tenants, at a time when more and more French people were becoming owners of their homes
