Sex education according to Wake (1966 p.8) best done as a natural occasion arises.... However as Dr. Reik (The Times 1966 p. 24) states ...what has so far been offered in the way of sex education in the United States is pitiful. The depth and degree to which discussion and explanation are involved depend upon one major factor: the level of rational understanding the individual has of his or her moral code and the individuals concept of values. Here lies the fertile field in which the seed of sex understanding can be planted and grown. The values and ethics of the individual compose the soil of such a field and must be nourished at an early age to insure the natural and normal germination of a health embryo. (excerpt)
