Zaffran, Joël - The school integration of retarded children in run-of-the-mill primary schools : a sociological analysis. The social logic underlying the thinking of certain adults participating in a project of school integration (directors, teachers and parents) are studied through non-directive interviews treated by quantitative lexcicometric analysis. The results are : 1° a bipolar professional world : the most official elements of school integration make up the Directors' pole ; the Teachers' pole is made up of items symbolizing the relationship of pupils to school learning ; 2° a family world, bipolar too but whose finality is one of normalisation through schooling : at one end, the parents who count on school integration to include their child in the social network ; at the other, those who consider their child to be like everyone else and look to schools to insure knowledge
