In January and February 2025, on the occasion of Clio’s 30th anniversary, we circulated a questionnaire among the journal’s readers. Our aim was to understand the profiles, practices and reading habits of those who read Clio. This collectively written paper, by authors of various generations, offers an initial reading and interpretation of the results of the questionnaire, allowing us to grasp the issues surrounding the evolution and the future of France’s leading journal in women’s and gender history
