Este estudo aborda a proibição de imagens de metal fundido, massekah, ou de ouro e de prata. Defende que na originalmente eram gritos de resistência camponesa contra a religião urbana, exploradora e concentradora. Apropriadas pelas reformas centralizadoras de Ezequias e de Josias perverte-se seu papel e tornam-se importantes instrumentos impulsionadores e legitimadores da concentração de riqueza e poder em Jerusalém. BETWEEN IMAGES AND IDOLATRIA: RESISTANCE, AMBIGUITIES AND VIOLENCE This study addresses the prohibition of images of molten metal, massekah, or gold and silver. He argues that originally they were cries of peasant resistance against the urban, exploitative and concentrating Religion. Appropriated by Hezekiah and Josiah's centralizing reforms, their role is perverted and they become important tools for empowering and legitimating the concentration of wealth and power in Jerusalem
