Une nouvelle fouille du port de Marseille, place Jules-Verne

Le rivage le plus anciennement occupe du port de Marseille se situe au nord de la place Jules-Verne. Les datations font remonter a 5930 BP (± 200) cette epoque, durant laquelle la plus ancienne presence humaine est attestee. Du Bronze moyen II au Bronze final II s'est constitue un depot de coquilles d'huitres de nature anthropique sur pres de 2000 m 2 . La presence de cet amas permet de temoigner d'une presence humaine, mais l'absence de materiel lithique, d'outils, de ceramiques et autres dechets ne permet pas de l'interpreter comme un habitat de rivage
