The crisis of the Yugoslav political system in the 1980s. Joseph Krulic. The crisis of the Yugoslav politic system has been general since 1986 : it is both an ideological crisis and a crisis of economic management, and the disintegration of the federal government. This multi-faceted crisis has led to a crisis of the dual legitimacy of pre-1980 Titoism, both communist and national. The future seems shaky : between national compromise, military force and « Lebanonization », the very existence of the Yugoslav political system is endangered
