Explotación de myocastor coypus en el extremo meridional de la cuenca del plata durante el holoceno tardio

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar distintos aspectos vinculados con la explotación de Myocastor coypus (coipo) por parte de los grupos cazadores-recolectores que habitaron el extremo meridional de la cuenca del Plata durante el Holoceno tardío. Para ello, se tuvieron en cuenta las principales características que posee esta especie como recurso y se analizó en detalle el registro arqueofaunístico de M. coypus proveniente de cuatro sitios arqueológicos. Se consideraron distintos factores relacionados con la integridad de los conjuntos óseos y diversas conductas relacionadas con la obtención, procesamiento y consumo de este roedor. Finalmente, se plantea la importancia económica que adquirió el coipo, a nivel regional, en el marco de las estrategias y de los demás recursos faunísticos explotados por los grupos humanos que ocuparon el área de estudio
