This is the first text on agricultural geography to adopt a primarily behavioural perspective, demonstrating that a realistic understanding of agricultural land-use patterns can only be obtained by examining farmers' reactions to, and perceptions of, changing economic circumstances. It analyses agricultual land-use pattern in terms of social and economic factors.
