Attributions to a Middle Corinthian artist, the Samos Painter, are re-examined. The proper relationships of works removed from his list are considered. A new attribution is proposed. The relative chronology of his career, the sequence of kotylai by him, the sources of his style in the production of earlier artists, and his place among contemporary vase-painters, including the Attic Komast Group, are discussed
