Cet article trace la carrière et les idées de Vincent Mulago, théologien, l'un des premiers évêques catholiques de l'Afrique Centrale. A partir des années cinquante, Mulago était a l'avant-garde du travail théologique sur la rencontre entre l'identité culturelle africaine et la théologie chrétienne. Il a créé une « théologie de l'adaptation », qui prône une pluralité de la théologie chrétienne
