Tout en questionnant les lectures économicistes et celles qui interprètent la dernière dictature argentine comme l'expression du mal ou du pouvoir absolu, cet article analyse les ambitieux objectifs politiques du Processus de réorganisation nationale, ainsi nommé par les militaires. L'auteur montre comment les profondes divergences entre les différents groupes qui participent au régime dictatorial ont, dans une large mesure, empêché la réalisation de ces objectifs
