Ben Sira a ete concerne non par l'hellenisme mais par la politique du monde hellenistique au 3e-2e siecles av. J.-C. Il n'est pas seulement a considerer comme un savant de la Bible mais aussi comme un citoyen de l'Empire Seleucide. En prenant en compte les recits de la fortification de Jerusalem, on peut voir que Ben Sira est engage dans une utilisation complexe du langage biblique pour sa presentation de l'histoire. Il est un grand interprete de la Bible
