The role of the architect is to make tangible what is intangible. In the present state of architectural production, too many anomalies in the relationship of theory and practice have obscured this fundamental role. The result is a vision of architecture as a corrupt abstract art coping with technical and pragmatic requirements whose theoretical basis depends on theoretical and critical frameworks developed in other fields of human knowledge.' Architectural doctrine is not normal anymore. Most architects are playing games. They are playing with the puzzle of architecture without following the rules of the game, merely using the pieces of the puzzle as construction blocks.
