In South Eastern Asian cultures, self identity is deeply anchored to the keeping of narrow intercourse with family. The most in favour pattern is not the search of individual originality but conformity ; not being outstanding is appreciated. The philosophy of Confucianism and the ancestor worship, the belief in spirits exercise an influence upon the education and the behaviour of individuals even when they no longer live in their country of origin
