The concept of artification has recently emerged in the Sociology of Art. This article aims to contribute to the existing discussions about the concept. Thus, it begins by drawing a brief parallel between the different theoretical perspecti- ves, to then focus on the strand of Heinich and Shapiro, presenting their theory in more depth.
