This article examines Franz Rosenzweig's concept of homelessness in relation to his philosophical system. For Rosenzweig, revelation is an event that gifts subjectivity to human beings and also breaks ties with the ancient cosmos, producing homelessness in creation. I argue that Rosenzweig's system employs time as the fundamental schema that opens the individual elements of God, world, and humanity; however, the temporal world is scarred by an unresolved homelessness that affects the relations between the elements
