Abstract: This article aims to provide a reflection on the (self-) representation of the victim in contemporary Spain. The representation of the victim, occurs through the construction of a storytelling that uses a specific rhetoric, rhetoric of pathetism that is based on the singularity of a bearer body of marks. These marks refer to the pain and suffering endured by the victim. That pain and suffering overlaps two features that enable the rhetoric: a baroque aesthetic, peculiar for its particular display of bodies in pain; and a humanitarian moral, which is a subjectivity in victims around his pain showing his condition of violated humanity.Key Words: Victim, Representation, Body, Discourse, Pain
