Historicamente, o capital encontra estratégias para acumulação e a incorporação de novos territórios e os ajustes espaço-temporais são necessários, especialmente em momentos de crise de sobreacumulação. Esta incorporação se manifesta através do avanço das fronteiras agrícolas, que dissolve as ordens sociais existentes, como sistemas de propriedade, direitos e contratos sociais e abre o território para novas formas de controle. No século XXI, em um contexto caracterizado por uma convergência de múltiplas crises - alimentar, ambiental, climática, energética e financeira - emergem novas formas de controle, com interesses, elementos e estratégias renovados, mas com um objetivo central bastante histórico: o controle do território para a acumulação de capital. O MATOPIBA é a materialização da necessidade interminável de incorporação de novos territórios pelo capital para garantir sua reprodução, especialmente no que se refere ao capital estrangeiro e financeiro, principais agentes atuantes na região. Este processo é repleto de contradições, paradoxos e impactos, destruindo não apenas o Cerrado, mas territórios de vida
