The three notions: economic crisis, collective initiative by a group to solve the problems it faces, development - cannot be dissociated. An initiative proves the existence of a crisis and searches for a solution. On the other hand, the original features of an initiative very often reflect the main characteristics of the crisis, which it wants to resolve; the former tries to oppose a type of antithetic model to the latter. To achieve development, die collective initiative has to be subjected to a series of questions. How is its economic efficiency? What is its capacity to create new social relationships? Is it die bearer of a societal guiding image? Is it capable of obtaining a minimum consensus from society without, however, being absorbed by it? - These points are discussed setting out from the French experience of the Groupements agricoles ?exploitation en commun (GAEC, agricultural groups for joint farming).RésuméLes trois notions, crise économique, initiative collective ?un groupe pour résoudre les problèmes qui lui sont posés, développement, sont indissociables.
