This article explores connections between the final triad of Pindar's Pythian 2 and what precedes it. Foregrounding the motif of reciprocity, Pindar chooses the animals featured here with an eye to their role in the iambic poetry of Archilochus, offering a revisionary treatment of the figure of the Archilochean wolf.
