La cuantificación de la población esclava en la Andalucía moderna. Una revisión metodológica

Neste artigo os autores tratam de revisitar a historiografía produzida sobre a escravidão em Andaluzia durante a Idade Moderna, a qual tentou de quantificar o número de escravos na região. As metodologias e os diferentes tipos de fontes históricas empregadas nesta quantificação histórica são objecto de revisão metodológica, nomeadamente o uso das fontes notariáis e os registros de batismo. Ambas tem sido fontes muito importantes para os historiadores que pesquisaram a escravidão na Andaluzia moderna. Utiliza-se uma perspectiva comparada dos resultados obtidos até agora acrescentados com nova documentação primaria, procurando assim oferecer considerações de carácter metodológico para poder estudar estes problemas históricos com uma metodología científica extrapolável a outras regiões e ámbitos cronológicos
