L'A. restitue ce texte de Flaubert dans le contexte colonial qui est le sien. Il met a jour la poetique de l'hysterie traversant cette oeuvre, et qui renvoie tant a Flaubert qu'aux autres ecrivains de l'epoque : il s'agit de la problematique du poete (et de sa part feminine) fils d'un pere colonisateur et pris dans un double lien psycho-social et esthetique
