J.-L. Cousin et P. Leman, Contribution to research on the Quentovic site discovery of Higher Middle Ages pottery fragments in the Canche. In the near surroundings of the presumed location of Quentovic only a few Gallic and Gallo-Roman sites are known. In 1976, for the first time, during an underwater prospection some fragments which may be dated back to Carlovingian times were found in the bed of the river Canche at Beutin. Without being absolute evidences ot the location of Quentovic, these findings nevertheless bring us serious indications in the search for the Carovingian Canche harbour
