Rémi Gallou Ageing immigrants living alone in France A large percentage of workers who immigrated to France during the "Glorious Thirties" are now entering retirement without returning to their native country. Many of the men live single, while the women often remain in the family home. A lifetime of hard work accentuates the ageing of these populations, who then become dependent on public assistance earlier than other ageing populations
