the dream as representatives of the dream-thoughts, so that an element in the dream corresponds to a point (Knotenpunkt) or junction in the dream thoughts .. . 1 The allusion to the Knotenpunkt reminds the reader of that perspective in Freud more concerned with discovering a latent organization of the manifest content than a hidden meaning behind it.
