Interior and exterior plat form angles have the potential to provide Information about technical aspects of flake production. Legitimate doubts have been expressed about the accuracy of methods used to measure platform angles. In this paper a new method for measuring plat form angles is presented and applied to assemblages of experimentally manufactured blades. Analysis of the resulting data suggests that there is a strong negative correlation between exterior platform angle and interior platform angle, but that this correlation is probably limited to a particular range of angles. It also may depend upon whether the interior platform angle is measured from the proximal or medial area of the ventral surface
