The objective of this research focuses on the relationship between oppression and resistance and how this is manifested in the Amadian characters of Captains of the Sands. With this article, based on the postulates of, Candido (2000; 2015; 2019), Bueno (2015) and Marx (2014), among other authors, we seek to analyze the relationships between oppression and resistance, starting from of social issues, which subsidized our analysis. The selected clipping seeks to highlight the violence faced, and the awakening of resistance, aiming at social freedom
