This study examines the representation of Black people in the telenovela Vai na Fé, aired by TV Globo at 7 PM in 2023. Its narrative predominantly features Black characters who, while not depicted in subordinate roles to white individuals, are mostly portrayed as belonging to economically disadvantaged social classes. To support this analysis, a bibliographic review was conducted based on theorists such as Almeida, Lopes, Araújo, Carneiro, Svartman, and Akotirene, who provide relevant discussions on television, telenovelas, and racism, along with Rose's (2002) methodology for analyzing moving images. The findings indicate that, despite progress in Black representation in television dramas in recent years-evident in elements such as its opening sequence, theme music, and character construction-the stereotype of Black people as poor remains a recurring feature in these narratives
