The experience was carried out in the first half of 2020 and 2021, with undergraduates in Collective Health from a state university in Pará. It aimed at students' reflection on territorialization based on observation carried out in the territories in which they live, recognizing the social determinants of health and how these determinants affect these living spaces in times of the Covid-19 pandemic. The territorialization of an empirical micro area was carried out. At first, the geographical space was defined, with street boundaries, using web maps and micro-area plotting. In the second, observation was carried out from a script, housing was characterized, the distance to the health unit, community resources, accumulation of garbage, stagnant water and open sewage were recorded. Finally, the portfolio was built from the existing determinants in each territory. A total of 34 students, 17 of them in the first and third semesters, 95% were able to map where they live from the perspective of an empirical micro-area, defining its limits and carefully observing all the aspects present in the observation script proposed in the course. In this sense, the portfolio was complementary to the subjective apprehensions that intertwine social determinants of health. The recognition by these future public health professionals of the dynamic and living nature of the health-disease process in the territory enhances the understanding of the praxis that intertwine living and determining territories. It also aids in identifying health needs that facilitate the planning and development of actions to improve the quality of life in these communities
