Os desafios da Atenção Primária à Saúde no acolhimento de crianças e adolescentes vítimas de violência sexual

Objective: to analyze the challenges and strategies of the Violence Prevention Centers (VPC) in supporting children and adolescents who are victims of sexual abuse, as well as their families, within Primary Health Care services. Method: qualitative study conducted using semi-structured interviews with eight professionals working in VPCs. The findings were interpreted through the Content Analysis method. The thematic categories identified were: The pact of silence; Family man and abuser: tensioning roles and imaginaries; Gender inequality and female vulnerability in family relationships; and Implications for professional practice. Results: the study identified challenges in providing care to children and adolescents who have experienced sexual abuse, highlighting the need for multidisciplinary and networked approaches as essential to ensuring comprehensive care. Conclusions: the research underscored the importance of humanized care that accounts for the unique characteristics of everyone, considering the social, moral, ethical, and psychological dimensions that shape their experiences
