Objective: To analyze and characterize Public Health Residency Programs located in Pernambuco, Brazil. Methodology: This is a descriptive, documentary, and cross-sectional study. Data collection took place between July and November 2023 in the virtual environments of health and higher education institutions. The information collected from the programs' selection process announcements was systematized using Microsoft Office Excel 2022(R) software. Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis. Results: A total of eight programs were identified, seven of which were multiprofessional and one uniprofessional, offering 132 vacancies for various health professional categories, distributed as 120 and 12 vacancies in the multiprofessional and uniprofessional modalities, respectively. Most of the programs are located in the municipality of Recife. The professional categories of Nursing and Dentistry have more vacancies compared to the others.
