Migration, as a global phenomenon, has become a relevant subject to understand the contemporary world. One of the categories that would allow understanding new migration experiences is “transmigration”: the manner of being in two places at once, made possible by technological, economic and cultural changes. Although migration between Peru and Chile is crucial to comprehend the present relationship between both countries, the viewpoint of transmigration has not yet been developed in extant research. This article seeks to move forward in that direction, also incorporating oral testimonies from the protagonists of these transnational movements. This maneuver allows us to consider new elements of the Peruvian-Chilean migration, and allows a reflection on the concept of transmigration more as the expression of a possible stage than just as a fixed identity, acknowledging the experiences of the actors involved
