Drawing on the encounters with the Jamamadi of Massekury, in the upper Purus river of the brazilian Amazon, with our conversations and indigenous speeches, this work addresses the amerindian mythical narratives.Who and how told the Jamamadi myths; the Jamamadi names in their different instances of relationships; conflicts about the demarcation of Indigenous Lands in the region; the Jamamadi involved with their shamanic conceptions; the sorcery accusations and the revenge threats redefining relationships; finally, a Jamamadi candidacy for councilor in the nearest municipality of Massekury: each of these events, intertwining, became ways of eliciting the social relations of the Jamamadi. The purpose of this dissertation, therefore, is to explore the mythical language Jamamadi disseminated and expressed in various instances of social life in Massekury
