The post-Independence countries in Latin America inherited colonial structures and their fundamental institutions, including slavery and debt bondage.Abolitionist movements were also led by global center countries, which built thought the XIX and XX centuries an international consensus about human dignity and the inadequacy of captive labor. From the 1970s onwards, many reports were published about the resurgence of slavery in agricultural frontier regions until the same phenomenon was also observed in central countries and large urban centers in the 1990s.By the bibliographical review and documental analysis, this thesis starts since a Marxist perspective to a colonialism critic, to compare the coffee production chain in Brazil and Colombia based on the problem: what is the role of slavery within global production chains? Thus, the central objective of the thesis is to understand the modernization projects, considering the colonial institutions and the relationship between the domain of land and the domain of work. Therefore, the thesis will investigate the period of 1850 (when the land privatization project started) to 2020 (when the neoliberal project gets mature). The analysis proposes to: a) verify the dynamics between center and periphery in the conduction of the regulation of work, land and production (including the exploitation of natural resources); b) demonstrate colonization as simultaneous projects of assimilation and expropriation; c) present the determining factors for the increase of territorial autonomy in the face of subordination mechanisms. The thesis identifies that, thought the XX century, the public duties of regulation, enforce and control is progressively exercised by transnational corporations by their supply chain management mechanisms.Although, many projects of peasants' resistance still alive, offering proposes of reform of the monopolist project, or offering new standards of life.By the end, the thesis presents a proposal of territorial justice transition, to promote the democratization of public structures
