This study aims to critically examine the use of images to the formation of knowledge by presenting the thoughts of art historian Abraham Moritz Warburg (1866Warburg ( -1929)).The study stems from an educational question with a historical-philosophical basis: what other experience, other than the building of knowledge shaped with the enlightenment era, could be constituted? Therefore, the hypothesis is based on the theory that there is another way of thinking about coexistence with Enlightenment practices. The admissibility of the formulation is anchored in four complementary premises.First: images, when considered in extemporaneity and transmigration, broaden the possibilities of knowledge formation beyond the predominant practices since modernity.Second: composing fragments of different spaces and times, Warburg changes the ordinary structure of the way of thinking, providing other experiences through knowledge.Third: the macro and micro guidance system built from the Warburg library and its image prototype, the BilderAtlas Mnemosyne, brings down the discipline of segmentation in the creation of knowledge and its organized systems.Fourth: the dynamics of images adopt an inverted perspective of Warburg's Italian Renaissance, gathering small details, written fragments, accessories, survivals, and passions. This approach generates movement, intensifies energies, and restores knowledge to an earthly and restless state. The empirical structure of this research, inspired by Georges Didi-Huberman's reassembly method, deconstructed the Brazilian historiography that have spread knowledge across diverse temporal and spatial contexts for nearly two centuries through the Revista do Instituto Histórico e Geográfico Brasileiro. This study revolves around 2,500 images to apply Warburgian theory to this archival material. The conclusion tells small stories using reassembled knowledge and images from a different perspective. This study helps the fields of history and philosophy of education in two main ways: first, by updating critiques of knowledge systems based on their risks and powers, and second, by presenting a practical way of thinking that can be used in educational experiences
