This dissertation addresses the construction of the political notion of "indigenous infanticide" in Brazil, through the study of actors linked to the struggle that prescribes its combat.Such group is mainly composed by collaborators of the Atini Voz Pela Vida organizationwhich is located in Brasíliaand by politicians of the Evangelical Caucus in the National Congress of Brazil, who were responsible for creating and advocating the bill PLC 119/2015formerly PL 1057/2007 -, which discourses on the existence of "traditional practices" between indigenous peoples in Brazil. These actors frame the socalled infanticide as a traditional practice that violates the fundamental right to life and, for this reason, it must be broadly suppressed by the State. The main aspects addressed in the research are the mapping and the analysis of the so-called struggle against the indigenous infanticide, constructed through the interviews carried out with parliamentarians and with the attorney of the Atini Voz Pela Vida organization, as well as through ethnographical observation.I analyze the ethnographical material in the light of anthropology and ethnology bibliographies that deal with religion and the action of missionaries amongst indigenous peoples, working with the notion of legal pluralism, and proposing a discussion on anthropological research with individuals for whom anthropology does not usually nurture empathy
