O presente artigo parte da leitura do texto "Estrutura" em linguística, publicado originalmente em 1962, e presente em Problemas de linguística geral I, de Émile Benveniste. O objetivo é buscar entender a conjuntura em que esse escrito foi elaborado, focando principalmente no movimento intelectual europeu dos anos 1950 e 1960 para refletir sobre o estatuto epistemológico do termo estrutura nos estudos linguísticos da época
